HOW TO FIX WHIPLASH

There are many things you can do to heal your whiplash symptoms. For one, you can use a hot pad or ice pack to help take down the inflammation at home. You can also ask your doctor for a prescription or take OTC painkillers to help with your pain levels.

On the chiropractic side, we use the flexion-distraction method to help with your whiplash symptoms. This process involves a spinal adjustment to help put your joints back in the right alignment.

We can also utilize muscle stimulation (i.e., stretches) to help with your range of motion after whiplash. Another whiplash treatment method is trigger point therapy, which is similar to a deep tissue massage.

As you can tell, there are many ways on how to fix whiplash. To find out which treatment method is right for you, consult your chiropractor right away.

At Oregon City Chiropractic and Auto Injury, we are experts at treating whiplash and would be happy to help you find a treatment method that fits your needs and goals.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY WHIPLASH SYMPTOMS ARE DELAYED?

Most people get whiplash symptoms quickly after an accident. However, your symptoms can come a few days or later after a crash.

The important thing to do is visit a car accident chiropractor promptly after getting in a fender bender so that you can get evaluated and treated right away, regardless of whether you have symptoms yet. Your chiropractor can tell if something is wrong and take proactive steps to help realign the body if and where necessary.

HOW LONG DOES WHIPLASH TAKE TO HEAL?

If your neck is tender after a car accident, and you end up having whiplash, you can expect your symptoms to start getting better as little as a couple of days to a week post-accident (assuming you get the proper whiplash treatment right away).

In most cases, whiplash heals in about a month, though the time frame can vary based on your symptoms and treatment consistency. To learn more about how many chiropractic treatments you need for whiplash, check out our blog here.
